Upliftment of Court Order from the Western Cape High Court

Are you looking for a Court Order which you have misplaced over the years (eg. a Decree of Divorce) and you do not know where to start?

Do you know that most court files are public records and can be accessed simply by visiting the relevant Court and performing a search for the file?

But we know that navigating the Western Cape High Court may be difficult in itself, especially if you have never been there before. But do not stress because we can assist you with obtaining certified copies of the Court Order.

We charge a nominal fee of R 2,000.00 inclusive of VAT, which includes the following:-

  • A telephonic or email consultation with one of our attorneys to discuss the document to be uplifted and discussing the way forward;
  • The drafting of an upliftment form to be submitted at the Western Cape High Court;
  • Attendance at the Western Cape High Court to submit the upliftment form for the court file pertaining to the matter;
  • Attendance at the Western Cape High Court to uplift the court file pertaining to the matter;
  • Attending on making copies of the Order and having the copies issued as court-certified copies. (This gives the document the status of being an original Order and is just as good as the Order which was directly signed by the Judge); and

Thereafter, you can collect the Court Order from our reception. We will also provide you with an additional copy free of charge.

PLEASE NOTE: If the court file is missing and cannot be located, we will charge a flat fee of R 1,150.00 for attending at court and attempting to uplift the Court Order. Liaising with Court Registrars in order to locate a missing file and requesting that the court opens a duplicate file will be charged as per our normal Fee Mandate.
