Ben Koen

Ben Koen, a candidate attorney, joined Ashersons in August 2021.

Ben matriculated from SACS High School in 2015 where he played first team cricket.

He went on to study a BA LLB at the University of Cape Town majoring in History and Law. Ben graduated with his BA degree in 2018 and thereafter he graduated with his LLB degree in 2021.

Shortly after graduating, Ben worked for 6 months as a Legal Researcher at the South African Institute of Race Relations, whereafter he joined Ashersons Attorneys to pursue his articles of clerkship.

Ben’s legal interests lie in the fields of commercial law, tax law, and property law. Ben is also a firm believer that the law should not be abstract, but a real mechanism to promote justice and solve problems that help improve people’s lives.
